Consulting: team, process, architecture

I help build an IT team, set up the development process and design a system that will hold the load. I go through what exists and give a plan that can be carried out.

ARCHITECTURE · PROCESS · TEAM

16 years in development. I have built teams from scratch and picked up projects of others midway. What breaks is usually the same: hiring without criteria, releases once a quarter, a database that has hit its limits, and code nobody dares to touch.

I look at the code, the infrastructure and an ordinary day of the team: how tasks are set, how reviews go, how a release is shipped. In one to two weeks you get a written review: what is in the way, what to change first and what it costs. Then there are two options. We implement together — I take part in hiring, set up the process and design the architecture alongside the team. Or the team follows the plan on its own and I join in along the way.

Suits companies with a live product that need a second opinion: the product grows faster than the team, releases have become rare, the load has grown, and it is too early to hire a CTO. If there is no code yet, a prototype is the place to start, not an audit.

What is included
  • Audit of code, architecture and infrastructure
  • Team profile: roles, hiring criteria, interviews together with you
  • Process: sprints, code review, CI/CD, releases without night shifts
  • Architecture for load: queues, cache, sharding, observability
  • A written plan for the quarter and guidance during implementation
How we work
01
A 30-minute callYou tell me what hurts. I say what I will look at and how long it will take.
02
Review in 1–2 weeksI read the code, look at the infrastructure and the day of the team. I talk to the developers, not only to the manager.
03
A written planWhat is in the way, what to change first, what it costs and in what order. A plan for the quarter that can be carried out.
04
ImplementationTogether or by the team following the plan. I join hiring, reviews and architecture along the way.
