The task
A brand with twenty years of engineering history had no storefront. Dealers hunted for part numbers in PDF price lists; end customers never found the brand at all.
The solution
A catalogue with lookup by make, model and year. The part page carries fitment, equivalents and cross references, with the cart and checkout beside it.
One site covers both the dealer and the retail scenario.
How it went
We started with the catalogue tree and the part page — that is where the value of a parts store sits. The prototype was signed off in a week; the storefront was built in parallel with the product data export.
Built with
Vue on the storefront, Node on the backend, a nightly exchange of items, prices and stock with the accounting system. Part number and cross-reference search runs on an index, not a scan.
